Emirates NBD ships statements as password-protected PDFs in both retail and ENBD smartBUSINESS variants. ClearlyLedger unlocks them for the requested conversion, normalizes AED amounts, preserves bilingual Arabic / English narration, and exports balance-verified Excel or Tally / Zoho / QuickBooks-ready CSV — ready for your 5% VAT return.
Emirates NBD is the largest bank in the UAE and its statements are the single most-converted file format in our pipeline. They are also the trickiest: every download is password-protected, the layout differs between retail (Personal Banking) and ENBD smartBUSINESS (SME), the bilingual Arabic column overlaps the English description on certain pages, and the AED amounts use a thousand separator that generic table-extractors split on.
The result with most tools is missing rows, broken decimals, and an opening / closing balance that does not reconcile. For VAT and Corporate Tax filings that is a non-starter.
Drag the PDF onto the homepage. If it is password-protected you will be prompted in the browser. The password is sent only with that conversion request, used to unlock the file in memory, and is never logged or stored.
Excel (.xlsx) and Standard CSV are available on every plan including Free. Starter and above add direct-import CSV formats for Xero, QuickBooks, and Tally Prime, with DD/MM/YYYY dates and clean AED amounts that need no reshaping.
The export schema (Date, Description, Reference, Debit, Credit, Balance) maps directly onto what FTA auditors ask for in the 5-year VAT record retention rule and the 9% Corporate Tax filing introduced in June 2023. Free-zone companies (DMCC, JAFZA, ADGM) and mainland LLCs both benefit — same schema, no reshape.
smartBUSINESS statements include a separate value-date column and a much denser merchant settlement format. The smartBUSINESS profile preserves both the transaction date and the value date in distinct columns — important for accountants reconciling settlement timing across month-end.
